Would you tell a platonic opposite sex friend that you love him/her?

I have a very close opposite sex friend who I have known for years and years. There is no romantic or sexual attraction or history of feels in that way. But I still love her, but in a different way.

Would you tell a friend of the opposite sex you love him/her if there was no romance or sexual attraction?
