Why do so many high school dramas promote teen sex?

I know they are meant to reflect "reality" but it's gotten to the point where it's just all over the place. It's like they're saying to teens, "Hey, kids, sex is kool. Your favorite hot stars do it. You should too!"

There's a difference between the after school specials of the past and shows like 90210 and Degrassi.
